Outside of Hogwarts' stone walls there is danger and death. Within, the students deal with themselves, with one another, and with the prospect of a looming war that's waiting just outside, as soon as they graduate. There's love. There's hate. There's loyalty. There's betrayal. Muggle high school's a bitch and Hogwarts is no different.

Severus Snape | Slytherin | Sixth | Half-blood | Open Severus Snape could never be credited with gentleness nor any sort of general niceness; however, he prided himself on being cool-headed and intelligent. He supposed his resentment toward most people was a trait he inherited from his father; well, that and his nose. For the rest, he was like his mother; quiet and bound to make all the wrong choices. Over the past few years, he had done just that; he had lost the girl he loved, fallen in with Death Eaters, and even preformed Unforgivable Curses on his own father. Of course, after years of abuse from Tobias, it was bound to happen, but he still felt a shred of guilt over it. He tries not to focus on the fact that his life is crashing around him though, spending hours in the library studying, or in his dorms experimenting with Potions. Sometimes certain people force him to open his mouth, which he usually regrets, which is why he prefers to keep it closed. Marlene McKinnon | Gryffindor | Sixth | Pureblood | Open Proud and content are good words to describe Marlene. The girl does what she wants when she sees fit for the most part, happy to let her combat boots track mud into the common room all over the stray parchments left over the floor. (It’s the second years’ faults for leaving out their assignments anyhow.) Hogwarts has only convinced her that she truly does take no orders from anyone, and that if she wants something done, what better candidate to do it than herself? She’s one who takes little from words but miles from actions, and acts just as such. The position of Beater on the Quidditch team is fitting, and a great way to vent. Marlene asserts there will never be a better way to work out her frustrations than going out on the pitch and hitting some balls into some Slytherins. Regulus Black | Slytherin | Fifth | Pureblood | Open In his fifth year, Regulus is finding it easier to fade to the background while everyone acts around him. He’s given up on resisting his parents’ reign, now already engaged, and views his future bleakly and as an inevitable event. He’s enjoying the school years while he can, with what little freedom he has: when in the pitch, when on his own, when away from the crowds that surround him, all surprised by that lack of alpha quality otherwise so present in the Black family lines. Observe his brother (as Regulus certainly has, carefully and for a while, while taking notes) - enigmatic, outgoing, borderline egomaniacal, with crowds upon crowds of students flocking to him. Regulus has, after all this time, assumed it wasn’t anything in his genetics, as, with a chromosome that overpowering and dynamic, the chances of it being recessive are one in a million. And so it has to be some innate Sirius-like factor similar to a pheromone that no one, not even his brother, have been able to resist. And yet his cousins all portray similar tendencies in being centers of attention, andstill Regulus, while favored to his parents after his brother’s one-man rebellion, remains sufficiently underwhelming when measured up to the bars set by his family. For much of his life, and likely for what is left of it, Regulus supposes he’ll be doing what he is told, unless someone important tells him otherwise. Evan Rosier | Slytherin | Sixth | Pureblood | Open Evan Rosier is often seen hanging out with his fellow Slytherins, playing it rough with the rest of his House’s quidditch team. Even so, it doesn’t mean that he can’t make some time for the ladies— regardless of their house. With blood that could rival the purity of the Blacks (not that it does,) Evan likes keeping himself that way— above the others. But, he has a full year before being unleashed onto the world. He’s got time to be absolutely, positively idiotic and stupid— parties, sex, fun. Evan doesn’t spend too much time worrying about his grades, because really, why should he?
